This paper is a numerical study of Al-Iklas Sura. After introducing the numerical miracle of the Glorious Quran and defining it, this work deals with three numbers that have a special significance; 1, 4 and 11. The Sura has been analyzed in terms of letters and words in order to deduce some aspects of numerical miracle. In addition, a comparison between the word of Al-Tawheed ( oneness) and Al-Iklas Sura in respect of number and linguistic structure are done. It has been observed that there is a lot of similarities between them in terms of meaning, language and number. Also this study gives a support to the Hadeeth which says that Al-Iklas Sura is equivalent to one-third of the Glorious Quran.

In this paper we have proposed a modified hybrid conjugate direction algorithm which combined a well-known CG-method which was based on a non-quadratic model and a well-known VM-method which based on the quadratic model. The new modified algorithm was treated both theoretically and numerically and proved to be stable and its convergence was super-linear and it uses an exact line search. Our numerical results indicate that the modified hybrid method performs well compared to the two well-known used method.

This research deals with a new concept called the Markov sequence. A Markov sequence is a series of symbols, letters or words having the Markov property. Another concept called the likelihood sequence is suggested . The likelihood sequence is the greatest probabilistic bond between the elements of a Markov sequence. After giving the mathematical definition of Markov sequence, a linguistic application is considered in the field of Arabic language. Decision trees driven from the element of Markov sequences are explained.

In this paper, we have investigated a new multiplier for the Lagrange interpolation by modifying the initial value of the multiplier in order to reduce the errors and avoid the use of arbitrary values for the initial . The new procedure improves the rate of convergence of the Lagrange interpolation. Numerical results indicate that the new approach yields very effective numerical results depending on the number of iterations ; number of gradient and the number of function calls.

Following Mathiew, Cabrera-Rodriguez and Cabera-Mohammed we define particular totally multiplicatively prime algebra. Using these algebras we improved the result due to Cabera-Mohammed which stated that, if A is a real totally multiplicatively prime algebra, than the central closure of A is a complex totally multiplicatively prime algebra.
Also we explain the relation between particular totally multiplicatively prime algebra with prior algebra specifically totally multiplicatively prime algebras ultraprime algebras and totally prime algebras.

Numerical Solution of Korteweg-de Vries-Burger (KdV-B) equation is presented using two finite difference methods ,the explicit scheme and Crank-Nicholson scheme. The accuracy of computed solutions is examined by comparison with analytical solution using example , and it has been found that the explicit scheme is simpler while the Crank-Nicholson is more accurate and has faster convergent . Also , the stability analysis of the two methods by using Fourier (Von Neumann) method has been done and the result was showed that the explicit scheme is stable under the condition and the Crank-Nicholson is unconditionally stable.

The paper considers stochastic convergence of certain means used to obtain the between sum of squares in analysis of variance. These limiting random variables are used to obtain a nonnegative estimator of the between component of variance. The usual ANOVA estimator of the within component of variance is considered. A nonnegative estimator of heritability is given. Asymptotic tests are derived also. Finally, the paper extends the linear model to allow the number of observations in each cell to be random.

In this article we make a comparison between three different nonparametric density estimators .The first estimator is called fixed kernel which uses a fixed bandwidth.
The second estimator is called variable kernel, which uses variable bandwidth, then the third estimator, refers to a new version of nonparametric density estimator (this estimator is a hybrid of the above estimators.
This comparison depends on using different kernels, two of these functions are proposed in this article .To make this comparison suitable, we use standardization techniques, which are called canonical kernel.
Simulation is used to find kernel function based on the standardization techniques (canonical kernel).

A Suggested Method for Estimating the Rate of rainfall in Mosul as a Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process
text

eng
This research deals with the non-homogeneous Poisson process in a suggested method through mixing two methods of estimation in one method to arrive at the estimate of the rate of occurrence without using common probability distribution and estimating their parameters. A non-parametric method has been applied in a suggested method of estimation.
The practical application includes studying the period of daily rainfall in Mosul Forecasting Station in Neneva. The rate of daily rainfall has been estimated in the static method suggested in the research. The result arrived at in this research has been compared with other results shown by other two estimators. The efficiency of this suggested method becomes clear in estimating the rate of occurrence of events in non-homogenous Poisson process through this comparison.

The straight lines exist richly in civil objects which are usually man made like buildings, read,…ect. Depending on this fact search strategy was constructed. New method has been used to detecte straight line, it is Baron's Method (BM), after using and checking the results we adopted the (BM) method in this search. Some development are performed on the (BM) method and we called it Developed Baron method (DBM). Hybrid has been done between (DBM) and genetic algorithm (GA) to get efficient results (execution and precision), this method is being called Genetic Developed Baron Method(GDBM).The two methods have been applied. The accuracy and execution time for each method is calculated. The experiments show that the proposed hybrid method in this search is relatively fast and it achieves high performance, it produces (90%) recognition rate.

In this paper, we present a new computational algorithm which can be used to study the sensitivity analysis of GPP and SPP of degree of difficulty greater than zero. To study the sensitivity analysis of GPP (Dinkal & Kohgenberger [2]), one has to use a subroutine to solve a system of linear equation to get the values of optimal primal variables. Our proposed algorithm is thus more effective in that no new subroutines (such as one for computing the inverse matrices are needed). The generalized algorithm which was presented by Mohan & Al-Bayati to study the sensitivity analysis of SPP [1], is same as our proposed algorithm except that in evaluating the new values of the dual optimal variables. The numerical evidence confirm that the new proposed algorithm is very effective.

In this paper, we present extension forms of Dai, Yuan (DY) and Fletcher, Reveres (FR) CG algorithms. Our modifications and based on introducing a non-quadratic model (sigmoid function model). These modified algorithms are implemented with Wolfe conditions, where initial step size in each iteration is taken as and the global convergence of the modified DY algorithm is investigated. These modified algorithms are tested on some standard test functions and compared with the original DY and FR algorithms showing considerable improvements over all these comparisons.

On Bayesian Estimation of Random Two-way Classification Model with Interaction
text

eng
This research deals with the estimation of linear random two-way classification model with interaction, containing four parameters. These are: variance of effect A, variance of effect variance of interaction AB and variance of random error. These parameters are estimated through using Bayes Quadratic Unbiased Estimator (BAQUE).
The prior information obtained by using variance analysis technique to represent prior estimates of these parameters. Then, the prior distribution is considered as a uniform distribution.
BAQUE approach is applied to real data obtained from Mosul University/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / Department of Crops, and these data represent the development of planting yellow corn that the development has three factors which are the corn type, the quantity of nitrogen fertilizer and the interaction between them. Then a random sample was taken from these data to get the random model. The results of estimates that have been obtained are very encouraging.

Spatial Stochastic processes are often divided into two types that are stationary spatial stochastic processes and other nonstationary.
In most practical applications the processes are nonstationary .Prediction of these processes are performed by universal Kriging technique which supposes that the processes have a trend with fixed linear or nonlinear equation.
In this work we derive the universal Kriging equations in matrixes form which can easily be implemented by computer. Also here we identify the variogram model and trend model.
The application is given in example that worked out on real data. The predicted results are very near to the real data with error of prediction is given

Robust Factor Analysis is used to analyze a large number of variables to extract new ones whose number is fewer than those factors to which the difference in these variables is attributed . Such a statistical analysis can be used in a broader scope of fields and scientific activities .
Related studies have proved that data without any outliers is but exception within scientific realm . Such a problem can be avoided through using certain suitable robust methods for a model or via primary clearance of data from outliers , and then applying classical statistical methods of factor analysis . The estimation of location and Scatter with multivariate together with affine equivariant and high break down. Become hard to apply and need much time for calculation as dimensions increase .
In this paper we study a sample of (123) persons with conditions of the chest and medical diseses and (16) variables deal with three robust estimators .

Mechanism of Missing Data and Estimating them by Principal Components
text
article
2010
eng
The mechanism of missing data requires knowing the reason behind missing them because different mechanism easy in which data is missed give rise to different specifications of the available sample. The data on which this study depends has been missed completely at random (MCAR) and changed into complete one. It can also be possible to find the magnitude of unbias after changing the data into complete one. Then observing the problem of multi linear variance which can be detected by Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) gauge. The estimation of data by the principal component, method follows that. Finally the study applies this data on the variants of oil products and the consumption of the refined products in certain regions in the world (1000 barrels a day from 1970 to 2004).

eng
This paper specifies econometric model for environmental pollution such as solid waste and gas emissions of Kirkuk cement factory for the period (1984-2006) the variables used in the production process, which is electric power, black oil, clay and limestone. We used ridge regression and Generalized Maximum Entropy(GME) to solve the multicollinearity problem, because this problem is appeared between the variables of the model. The multicollinearity diagnostic is done by variance inflation factor, condition index and variance proportions. From the analysis, we obtained the GME as the best estimation with respect to standard error of the parameters and logic. The limestone has the largest influence in solid pollution and the black oil and electric power are the variables which affects gas emissions. The (SAS.9) is used in the statistical analysis.

In this paper, a lower bound for the optimal makespan value have been improved (Hybrid lower bound) which can be used to evaluate the performance algorithm for multi-processor task scheduling problems in
multi-stage FSMP(flow shop with multi-processor).
So, the values of hybrid lower bounds can be used as an optimal solution when the problems are small size.
After applying the hybrid bounds, the result has shown that the bounds are efficient in estimating the optimal makespen value.
In addition, the high competence of this program in calculating the lower bound and execution speed are proofed

The Relationship Between the Analysis of Simple Cross Over Design And the Analysis of Compound Set of Youden Squares
text

eng
The cross over design with a missing period was split into a set of Youden squares. A direct and indirect methods were applied before and after splitting and a comparation between the results was established. The data have been generated according to an experiment conducted in cross over design which was applied in the college of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Mosul.
The analysis of a set of Youden squares showed a better results through the direct method according to comparative measurements: rising the F value, decreasing both the significant level ( ) and the mean squares error (MSe). Also the analysis of a set of Youden squares showed better results than cross over design analysis through both analytical methods according to the comparative measurements.

We perform a study and its application of a shrinking method concerned with the principal components similar to that one which used in the multiple regression. The goal here is to make an uncorrelated linear combination from only a subset of x-variables that may have a multicollinearity problem instead taking the whole number say, (K) of them. This shrinkage will force some coefficients to equal zero, after making some restriction on them by some "tuning parameter" say, (t) which balances the bias and variance amount from side, and doesn't exceed the acceptable percent explained variance of these components. This had been shown by MSE criterion in the regression case and the percent explained variance in the principal component case.

The study of compression types is regarded as an important subject in all fields. Minimizing the storage area in the memory used in storing data and the time required by the data on transferring have urged many researchers to prepare algorithms to compress data and then to repeat untying compression. In the current research, the pictures of Arabic textual documents together with their contents have been studied in an attempt to compress them through the suggestion of an algorithm specific to the pictures of Arabic textual documents based on the deduction of coefficients of the features of the document.
The ideas of the algorithm suggested subsume working to uproot the lines and then the columns of the textual document so as to minimize the size of the textual document to its minimum degree by minimizing the period of executing and by facilitating the process of compression. All that is done by applying the concepts of the algorithms of the four-fold tree division to the contents of the minimized document so as to get a full description of the texture of that minimized document, then building up a new file that contains the data limited to the description of the textual picture.
We have also found that, on applying that algorithm to the textual files in different shapes, the outcomes have been very encouraging so as to be adopted by compression programes. We have also obtained a good compression ratio and also a better and higher vividness on opening the compression of those textual documents. The
compression ratio ranged between 1:5.

Texture extraction and analysis are regarded as important operations in image processing field for various computer applications.
In this research, fractional dimension has been used in the process of texture extraction and analysis of various medical images. 2D Variation and Box Counting algorithms were used to extract the textured image and segment the radiation image based on the extracted textures.
This research first adopted common and used methods in 2D variation algorithm, as well as a proposed method to adopt this algorithm. Practical experiments showed the efficiency of the proposed method in the process of texture extraction with execution time less than the time required by other common used methods.

This study involves the enhancement of texture features of all spectral bands of multispectral satellite image using Principal Components Transformation (PCT).
The strategy of enhancement is based on transforming the spectral bands of multispectral image to principal components and implementing texture enhancement technique on the first principal component and finally invoke Inverse Principal Components Transform to transform the multispectral image from principal components domain to the original image domain . Thus , according to the characteristic of the PCT , the enhancement will be distributed among the original spectral bands . Finally , the efficiency of the given method is evaluated by subtracting the enhanced spectral bands from the corresponding original spectral bands and the results have shown the reliability of the method .
