DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.32424
In this paper, we have generalized the implicit update of the Quasi-Newton’s condition. We have here investigated a four; five and n-step update algorithm. We have applied the cases at four and five- step numerically and we have compared these cases with other QN-algorithms. The numerical results of the proposed algorithm show that the new algorithm was better than others.

IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 34-55
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.31714
This research deals with the non-homogenous Poisson process described as Weibull process. In order to estimate the rate of occurrence, maximum likelihood and least square methods have been used, in addition to the graphical method which investigates the suitability of the power low function of the data for the research and estimating the rate of occurrence.
The practical application includes studying intervals between rainfall in two main weather forecasting stations of Nineva. Thus, the rate of rainfalls has been estimated by using the suggested statistical method in the research.

DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.31717
Genetic algorithm was enumerated as one of the recent artificial intelligence manner, the importance of this manner was solving large and complicated volume thinks which have large quantity of replacement substitute during special time, and the solution which results from genetic algorithm is mainly considered as perfect solution.
The manner of genetic algorithm depends on solving the questions on taken from hereditary science, which mainly takes care at producing new individuals which have special properties (desirable or undesirable) through the interlock, modifications which happen on genetic groups to form new individuals.
In this research the development of genetic algorithm happens according to meiosis and mitosis division, of some biologic were identified, meiosis and mitosis division which happen in living being, three ways were suggested and performance rate for each case of execution was calculated. In the first suggested method we take good results of final values, in the second suggested method the results of final values were accepted, and in the third suggested method the results was not good.
A program was designed to include the application of three suggested methods and the execution on work by matlab language (Version 6.5) and depending of satellite images to complete the work.
Principle Components Approach Employment to Estimate the Delay Time in Dynamical Systems
IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 77-97
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.31729
This research deals with a mathematical approach of principle components analysis to estimate the delay time in linear stochastic dynamical systems. The delay time has a statistical importance to describe the suitable identification. So classical methods are used and the results are compared with the proposed approach from the simulation experiments where the Principle Component approach gives a high degree of success to estimate the delay time especially with crosscorrelation and impulse response function.

Estimation and Prediction in Mixture Truncated Normal Distribution
IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 114-124
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.32396
This paper is concerned with the estimation of the parameters of the mixture normal distribution with truncated components using Bayesian approach. One of numerical methods is used to obtain the joint posterior distribution of the variances of the two components, Predictive distribution of the future observation, is also obtained which is a mixture of two components. Each component is weighted by the belongance ratio of future observation to each component of mixture truncated normal distribution.
A Comparison of Some Fractal Geometry Techniques
IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 158-174
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.32400
There exists many applications for Fractal Geometry as in digital image procession, sound processing, analysis and derivation intent languages to find its root. Other applications are in biology, chemistry, art and medicine
This research is based on studying Fractal Geometry science focusing on the main methods used to generate and display some complex models which cannot be accomplished via traditional mathematics. Three methods are considered from the scientist Sieperniski, one method belongs to the scientist Pascal, and finally one for Von Koch.
Each method is implemented in software with facility to choose the complexity level at execution. A graphical user interface (GUI) is designed and used (Visual basic) language to program the methods.
Comparitive Study Between Two Ways Least Squares and Adaptive Regression In Regression linear model
IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 175-195
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.32405
In this research, we use the ( ) and ( ) two criterions to compare between the estimators of Adaptive Regression model and the estimators of Ordinary and General Least Squares. We found that, Adaptive Regression estimators are more accurate and efficient as compared to these estimators because they have minimum mean square error.

The present study is used to determine the attitudes of the university students towards the computer subject using the fuzzy logic and data base, We depend on two fields, the first one (list) contains number of paragraphs divided into Economical field and Psychological field that are used to determine the attitudes of the students towards the computer subject. The second field, named Examination, consists of a group of paragraphs considered as questions used also to determine the attitudes of the students towards the computer subject , We built Data Base for this system and we used the Fuzzy Logic and constitute number of membership functions for both the Psychological and Economical fields .
Rectification of Satellite Images by Using Wavelet Transform
IRAQI JOURNAL OF STATISTICAL SCIENCES,
2007, Volume 7, Issue 2, Pages 215-228
DOI:
10.33899/iqjoss.2007.32412
In the normal cases satellite images are not identical to the topographical map and the reason behind that is , with it's spherical nature that will make a removal to the satellite image captured by the satellite .This may bring some differences in the projection between the image and the map , so these projections and coordinations must be corrected .
There are two types of correction measures , first between (map- to- image), second between an (image –to- image). The research depends on studying the second correction relying on the 2D – Discreat wavelet transform technology, this technology proved a high performance and quality in most digital application fields and in the applications of different remote sensing in that it has a high quality in the multi-detailed analysis which is used to treat images .
The study applied the wavelet transform technology on a satellite image for Singar mountain region located west of Mosul city that captured by (TM) exactly in the fifth band, to treat the satellite image correction according to the topographical map coordinates for the same region. After making statistical process on the chosen ground control points (GCPs) in each (the image and the map) and accounting the estimated value of (MSE) for points according to the threshold value.
These results of the research gained by designing a program which reads and processes the stated image by using matlab 7.0 and using digital image processing measures ( image processing tool box ) which is contained with the system .

digital image authentication . To provide digital image authentication we depending on the ideas of one way hash function , message digest , and digital signature . An efficient method for digital image watermarking was suggested . This work combines between user authentication and digital image authentication , so that it allows the receiver of a digital image to be confident of both that the digital image is authentic and it is delivered from authorized source . The goal of this research is to detect any intrusion modification on the digital image while sending through computer networks .
